Kat Wahamaa is an award winning performing/touring artist and song-writer, theatre, photographic/ fibre artist with a passion for arts and social change. She is currently engaged in a four year Artist in Residency for the City of Maple Ridge
Over the last 15 years through music, theatre, fibre and photographic art, I have focused on community arts. My goal with the Maple Ridge Artist in Residency is to be an active, engaged member of the community, connecting with folks in a meaningful way through arts and the simple joy of creating together, and co-creating community arts projects that touch, teach and transform us all in the process.
For the Art Studio Tour I will be showing my photographic/digital art, and inviting people of all ages to paint a quilt square to contribute to the Positive Resistance Community Quilt, interspersed with a program of short musical performances. Get information on upcoming community arts projects, ways to get involved and give your feedback (comment cards) on project ideas.
